Background
A number of well-known Hollywood and HINDI Films have been set in rajasthan because of its picturesque location.
Location Jaipur, because of its central location and since it is the capital, can offer infrastructure most easily.However, though any location in the state is ideal for shootings, facilities may need to be developed at specific locations.
Where shooting is concerned, the following locales follow specific requirements:

Forests : Ranthambor (Sawai Madhpour), Bharatpur , Sitamata(Chittaur), Kumbhalgarh (Rajsamand), Darrah, Ramgarh, Tal Chhapar(Churu), Desert National Park (Jaisalmer).
Hills : Udaipur, Mount Aabu ,Alwar Pushkar Kota, Jhalawar, Chittaurgarh, Dholpur, Karauli, Kumbhalgarh, Ranakpur.
Lakes : Udaipur, Alwar, Rajsamand, Mount Abu, Jhalawar, Jodhpur, Sawai Madhopur, Bansna Dam, Suratgarh, Anoopgaarh, Bharatpur and Bundi.
Desert : Sam, Khuri, Dangri, Kuldhara at Jaisalmer, Karnisar Bhatain, Motha, Katariasar at Bikaner, Fatehpur, Churu, Ramgarh in Shekhawati, Osian, Pushkar and Kiradu (Barmer).

What the state requires, in addition, are state-of-the-art studios and a film training institute, for which the best location would be Jaipur At all other sites, support services that would facilitate film shooting would be useful. a large land area at jaipur has been earmarked for the development of a vilm city. |

ENTERTAINMENT TAX EXEMPTION TO FILMS |
Films are now exempt from entertainment tax, to the extent of 50% for period of one year, as are picturised the State of Rajasthan, subject to the following conditions, namely :-
1. That the film shall not have anything which is against communal harmony and national integration.
2. That the film shall not have any objectionable scenes in it.
3. That the producer of the film shall be required to submit, in advance, copies of shooting schedule to the Director, Art & culture and the Deputy secretary,finance (Tax) Department , Government of Rajasthan.
4. That the minimum 50% of the reel-lenght of the film shall be shot in the State of Rajasthan and be verified by a committee comprising the Director, Art and Culture, the Director, public relations and the Deputy secretary, Finance (tax) Department.
5. That such exemption would be subject to recommendations of a committee consisting of the State Minister of Tourism, Art & Culture, the Commissioner, Commercial Taxes or his representative, the Special secretary, Home the Directory , Public Relations and the Dy. Secretary, Finance(tax) Department. |
