WEDNESDAY, BOARD THE TRAIN AND DEP FOR JAPUR

DEPART : DELHI CANTT                  1830 HRS         FOR : JAIPUR

 Dinner on Board.

THURSDAY, JAIPUR

ARRIVE : JAIPUR                              0000 HRS

(Breakfast on board )

Assistance on arrival and straight proceed for City sightseeing tour of  Jaipur by Private Air-conditioned Coach with English speaking guide visiting:-

JAIPUR – visiting Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds, which is a remarkable five storeyed building alongwith main street of the old city in pink splendour with semioctagonal and delicately honey combed sandstone windows.  This is followed by a visit to Amber Fort, eight kms. Away, where rides on caparisoned elephants add to the ambiences. 

Lunch at Rambagh Palace.

After Lunch, visit  the City Palace, home of the erstwhile royal family.  Right across the road from the palace is the Jantar Mantar, the largest observatory built by Sawai Jai Singh II.

JAISELMER – founded by Prince Jaisal in 1156, it is the western most town of any significance of India and has an extraordinarily medieval feel, with its crenellated golden sandstone walls and narrow streets lined with exquisitely carved buildings.  The Nathmalji-ki-haveli, Patwon-ki-haveli and Salim Singh-ki-haveli are fine examples of the stone carver’s skill.

SAWAI MADHOPUR – a city named after its founder, Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh I.  Visiting Ranthambhor National Park, where in are located the ruins of a 10th century fort.  This wildlife sanctuary is considered the country’s best for observing and photographing the activities of the tiger.  The park, covering an area of 392 sq. kms. Is home to more than 300 species of birds.  The tiger, hyena, ratel, jackal and fox are among those constituting the carnivorous population here.  Sawai Madhopur is known for its exclusive toys, ethnic ornaments and costumes.

TUESDAY, AGRA/BHARATPUR

BHARATPUR BIRD SANCTUARY  – established in 1956, this 29 sq km piece of marshland is one of the finest bird sanctuaries in the world with over 360 species of birds.  Among may other birds to be seen are egrets, ducks, coots, storks, kingfishers, spoonbills, Sarus cranes and several birds of prey, including laggar falcon, greater spotted eagle, marsh harrier and Pallas’ eagle.  There are also chital deer, sambar, nilgai, feral cattle, wild cats, hyenas and wild boar whilst near Python Point, there are usually some very large rock pythons.

Depart for Delhi at 23.00 hrs.
