Background
Though
it surprises many people, Rajasthan has a large number
of lakes that are ideal for cruises on houseboats. Only
Udaipur has an active water-transport culture-though
no houseboats.

Houseboats,
typical of Srinagar, have proved popular in Kerala's
backwaters in recent times.

Background
The
Chambal river is navigable and passes through a countryside
characterized by lush vegetation,boulder-strewn rural
areas as well as desert country. The river also has
a population of gharials and wildlife on the banks.
